The lovely Merritt Beck of Manolos and Martinis hit it spot on - just no. When I spoke to Amber Venz of Venz Edits and rewardStyle it was one of the first things she pointed out - admittedly rewardStyle if fabulous, but one of my favorite stores missed the mark with these pants ( I know your buyer is better than that). Maybe Rumi could make them work, but if she can't...well just don't buy them...even if they do look good on her.
