Designer Dossier: Libby Lane

It's always nice to be ahead of the curve, right? This morning I think I hit the jackpot thanks to, my fabulous co-worker, Claire. We get so caught up in brand names {Hello Reva flats, I still love you} that it's refreshing to find a new {to me} designer with an eye for all the right details. Enter: Libby Lane . This Texas designer has all the right elements for her bags to become the next "IT". Simple structure, beautiful handcrafted leather, just the right amount of detail, and the mentality of taking it back to the basics {high quality basics}. Libby Lane has major things coming - the brand was  featured in  Vogue  and some of the biggest names on the block are singing her praises, little ol' me feels the same way.   Libby herself is a stunner, the perfect mix of tumbleweed Texas and high fashion chic. To break it down: totally refreshing: uncomplicated, functional, beautiful handbags. My personal favorite is the envelope , but all of the b

Emmy Awards 2013

via popsugar A lot happened at the Emmys last night. A few that are of some meaning to me: Breaking Bad got robbed {Last night's episode - I can't even. I held my breath for 30% of it.}, Aaron Paul's wife is one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen {did you know they are only 25?}. They are so in love and as a sucker for love they are currently my favorite couple. I love the celebrity candids. I think a lot of the time we forget these are normal {just insanely good looking} people.  On to the fashion: I thought that Connie Britton's dress was awful. I adore her in Nashville and just thought "No. No. No. No. CURTAINS!!!!!"  I would say the  Huffington Post  has a fairly accurate portrayal of the worst dressed celebrities. Again, poor Connie. Per usual  Us Weekly  didn't totally nail it with the best dressed list! Who was your favorite? I thought Julia Louis-Dreyfus knocked it out of the park. I agree 100% w

fall fashion: style on the plaza

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, especially for fashion's sake. Riding boots, ballet flats, faux fur, and new trends. I'm currently obsessing over Royal blue. I also happened to pull a fantastic blue blazer for the annual Style on the Plaza fashion show that is tomorrow, on the Peach Plaza in downtown Rochester. I work directly with the fashion show director Nood and help her style the models and do the last look before they hit the runway. It's one of the best events in Rochester all year, and really showcases how fantastic our downtown merchants are. You might notice a handsome face on the runway and in the  look book ! Yesterday I had a day full of meetings. I don't think my brain turned off work mode until about 7:00 last night. However, the peek you get of my new royal blue blazer {above - shameless selfie} totally made up for an insanely busy day. I think life is more fun when one is dressed colorfully, no?

Weekend.

Just a few snaps of what has been going on fashion wise since Friday! I nabbed this Oxford a Kohl's (one of my best friends and bridesmaids works at Kohls corporate and I'm always majorly impressed with their buying) for less than $50. Way more affordable than the J.crew option! I picked up another frugal item at TJ Maxx and am rocking it today. Open weave, lace detail, and a flattering cream color - done! The big fashion show is coming up on Thursday, I love volunteering as a stylist, and love that my fiancé gets to be a model. This year our models are out of this world, and the downtown Rochester merchants have some really amazing pieces to work in. Adam is wearing glasses for one of his looks, we choose these Chrome Heart frames from Eye-Q. Handsome!

Put a Bow on It: Gina Made It

Per my previous post you may have noted that I put a pretty big emphasis on hair. It's true, a bad hair day throws off my game: I feel less confident in client meetings, I don't push myself as hard at the gym, and I usually feel like my outfit isn't on point. Oh to be a lady, right? Three weeks ago I switched up my hair game and got tape in extensions, they have been a heaven send {except for that four wefts fell out this week, after only three weeks...is that normal?}. With these new extensions I can wear my in beach waves, pin straight, and up in a top knot. Recently my top knot game was upped with a sweet care package from Gina Made It . If you grew up in the Mid-West like this little lady, but know you're a southern belle at heart, then Gina Made It has your pretty little name all over it. Beautiful headbands, monograms, and the sweetest top knot bows you've ever laid your pretty little doe eyes on. The lovely ladies at Gina Made It  sent me a

Let's Talk About Teeth

You know how a bad hair day can totally ruin your outfit? Well a smile that doesn't sparkle can totally dull the beautiful person that you really are. Having healthy teeth is extremely important, you won't find me missing my six month check up at the dentist. I also love having a bright white and sparkling smile. I use bleaching agents from my dentist every three months, but on a daily basis using a fantastic toothbrush and toothpaste has been able to keep my chompers up to par. I also do not smoke or drink coffee {pat on the back}. When Oral-B sent me the Oral-B Deep Sweep 1000 Power Brush I was so excited to use it! Immediately after the first time using it I knew this was a product I couldn't live without. You know the how clean your teeth feel after the dentist? It was that kind of clean, but in the luxury of my own home. I've used a power brush in the past, but in the last few years haven't. It wasn't something I was concerned about and thought that m
