{for mom} miu miu

I've never seen my mom downright freak out over a pair of shoes. She sticks to the basics black ballet flats, Sperrys, and the occasional simple heel; however, when we were browsing on her iPad this past weekend she saw these MIU MIU smoking loafers and almost screamed. I asked my dad if I could get them for her but with the $650 price tag we're going to wait for a sale - she deserves them more than anyone I know!  P.S. Can't wait to see Merritt Beck of The Style Scrib e rock hers!

thank you {threadflip!}

I finally just got a new computer charger to plug myself back into the 'real world'. I'd first like to update the blog with a HUGE - THANK YOU - to  Threadflip!  I entered their Facebook contest and won this beautiful PRADA tote! The one above, with the amazing side zippers, isn't available online anymore, but if you want to pick one up yourself you can splurge  here !  In other news I'm currently on a MAJOR shopping freeze, so winning this beautiful bag, perked up my spirits and wardrobe! Adam is now also off the hook for my birthday - I really wante d a new Tory Burch  bag! Now all I want/need is an iPad! And this  Jimmy Choo  case wouldn't hurt either! Happy Monday!

{Tuesday Taste} ALMARI

I adore this peplum Top from UK Retailer  House of Fraser ! The color, the zipper, the contrast in the piping. It's the definition of { dare I say} sexy meets sweet and will carry you into fall with a chic blazer and jeans for a night out with the gals! The brand that designs it  ALMARI , might just have become one of my new favorites! Everything about it is chic, feminine, and demure. Think Kate Middleton X Victoria Beckham!

{a sunday inspired} different thinking.

A bit different than my everyday fare, but I love the look of the studded leather, crochet and flower headband. Not to mention, the model's fishtail braid, my go-to-no-fuss hairstyle. My goal this next week is to push myself outside of my style comfort zone. Fashion should be fun, thrilling, and unexpected. I want to lose the calculated feel of being so put together and let my bohemian side mix with my classic prep. Do you think it's possible?  Spanish Moss' Stone Muse Look Book via Cult of Style.

Loving all of these ladies recent looks featured in   US Weekly .  Doesn't Ashlee Simpson look amazing in her Alice + Olivia outfit?  Alice + Olivia Shorts $198

{reblogged} avocado fries.

YUM! Ingredients: 2 ripe avocados 1/4 cup flour 2 large eggs, beaten 1 1/4 cups Panko 1 tsp salt Directions: 1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. 2. Cut your avocado and remove the seed. 3. Slice your avocado into several segments. {I do this step with the skin still on because I find it's much easier to peel this way.} 4. Make yourself an assembly line of flour, beaten eggs, and Panko. Coat the avocado slices in that order. 5. Spread on a cooling rack that has been placed on top of a cookie sheet and spray with olive oil and sprinkle liberally with salt. 6. Bake for 20-23 minutes or until they are golden brown. via:  beauty and the beard  and sprinkles and style

{i like you}

“I Like You” by Sandol Stoddard Warburg [an excerpt] I like you because I don’t know why but Everything that happens is nicer with you I can’t remember when I didn’t like you It must have been lonesome then I like you because because because I forget why I like you but I do So many reasons On the 4th of July I like you because it’s the 4th of July On the fifth of July, I like you too If you and I had some drums and some horns and some horses If we had some hats and some flags and some fire engines We could be a HOLIDAY We could be a CELEBRATION We could be a WHOLE PARADE See what I mean? Even if it was the 999th of July Even if it was August Even if it was way down at the bottom of November Even if it was no place particular in January I would go on choosing you And you would go on choosing me Over and over again That’s how it would happen every time I don’t know why I guess I don’t know why I really like you Why do I like you I guess I just like you I guess I just like you bec

{marketing 101} Ray-Ban Legends Never Hide

Will you be indulging in a pair of Ray-Ban's Ambermatic 75th Anniversary sunglasses? I'm a huge fan of the  Outdoorsman II  to add to my classic aviators and wayfarers. Ray-Ban has knocked it out of the park with their "Legends Never Hide" campaign. It's interactive, feels personal, and prompts you to connect. You can even tell your story on their "Wall of Legends" .  It was obviously a huge investment and they have probably been working on this launch for years, but wow - I'm nearly speechless at the attention to detail and their ability to evoke emotion, yes, with just a pair of sunglasses.

{kindness} join the conspiracy :)

It's been one of those weeks. I don't want to say too much except a very special thank you to the wonderful people that have kept me in good spirits. I  received  an e-mail with this quote: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face... The danger lies in refusing to face the fear, in not daring to come to grips with it... You must make yourself succeed every time. You must do the thing you think you cannot do." - Eleanor Roosevelt And to the friends that brought over cupcakes and flowers last night.  To my boyfriend that knew I needed junk food to  stifle  the tears and a glass of wine to make the night a little less bitter. To my best friend that said they all must be crazy and for the texts that showed me there are people that care.  I'm facing the fear with a smile and the belief that I am blessed to have such supportive, compassionate and selfless people in my life.

{concert style} what do i wear?

When I go to a concert I like to dress for the music. One of the biggest trends I'm seeing right now is bra-lets. If you don't fee comfortable going all-bra-out layer over a sheer blouse for a sneak peak of what's underneath. For a more subdued concert - think Avett Brothers vs. Tiesto keep your outfit simple with pops of color that will still make you stand out in a crowd, like mint jeans and a unique bag. Always bring a crossbody purse to concerts - you need your hands free for beer (duh) and dancing! {click photo for product details}

{monogram madness}

I consider myself to be on the preppier side of things. I love stripes and leopard print, Sperrys and Tory Burch, and the one thing I can never say no to is a monogram necklace. I've been eyeing the pricier version for months, but didn't want to spend upwards of $200, when I already had a small monogram necklace. A few weeks ago I cam across  this  shop on Etsy !  Here is a shot of mine paired with my sideways cross necklace (they sell these as well)!

{summer staples} my closet.

A look into the items I'm wearing all day, everyday, for work, and play. Most of the items I own. A few are similar (the wedges, my Tory Burch bag is not exact).  Enjoy!

{WIN IT} Neon Rhinestone Necklace from Modtoast

All of you lovlies know I'm a huge fan of Modtoast . From my Arty Ring, to my spike cuff, and my gold choker Terri is constantly spoiling me with the chicest jewelry. You might recall the H&M Necklace that was impossible to find. Well...Terri has made a batch by hand, and she's giving you a chance to WIN one .  One of the reasons I love working with Terri is because of her pure motives. "Modtoast is a small independent business selling updated and fashionable jewelry to help feed and care for my house full of rescued animals. Money helps with their food, neutering and spaying, and medical care. As the owner of Modtoast, I mainly take in exotic animals, that I have adopted, rescued, and rehabilitate, to live out the rest of their lives in their forever home with me. Currently my home is run by 3 Macaws and 2 Parrots, 4 disabled indoor Bunny Rabbits, 7 Cats, 1-five foot long Green Iguana, and smaller rescued exotics." When you purchase from Modtoast

{CLOSED} The Cambridge Satchel Company Fluro Satchel!

I absolutely adore The Cambridge Satchel Company . Julie Deane, the creator of The Cambridge Satchel , was also my first call from the UK nearly a year ago to this day. I had done a post on Satchels  and Julie was so sweet to tell me more about her line of beautiful bags and why she started the company. Every time I saw her company in the news, online, sold at a new store, or featured in major fashion shows I did a victory dance for her - and also shot her an e-mail. Even when running a fashion empire Julie never hesitated to get back to me. It was kind of hard not to fall in love with The Cambridge Satchel Company and everyone that is a part of the company. I'm obsessed with my Fluro Cambridge Satche l and I am thrilled to give one of you the chance to win your very own ! I know what you're thinking, "Can I really pull off a neon bag ?"....and you definitely can! The Cambridge Satchel in neon green is the perfect mix of preppy, chic, and modern. It can go

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
