ombre pt. 2

As you can see my hair was in awful condition. The color bland and boring. Even against off-white and in great lighting, nothing good was going on. I didn't have the balls to take you through this via video, but I wanted to re-introduce my ombre DIY. This time around I made sure to take my time and be patient. My first time around with ombre I mixed my bleach and toner myself and painted it on with a pro brush; however, I fully recommend using gloved hands. I was able to get between slices of hair for a more natural look. I'm loving the below photos - and think I did a great job! I know I'm not the first blogger or the best to blog about ombre hair, but this is how I did it the Molly way! I used  L'oreal Super Blonde highlighting kit. If you have brunette hair you need to leave it on for at least 25 minutes for your color to lift. I put my hair into pig tails (be super careful with this so you don't get a line of demarcation) and started at the very tips of my hair...

hair update! ombre DIY.

my ombre hair turned out perfectly. It looks a little jacked up straight - but when curled it's perfectly rachel bilson. super proud of myself! again  i used L'oreal quick blue bleach - it comes in a foil package - and mixed the whole package with 2 oz of volume 20 developer. i mixed it in a hair bowl (the ones stylists use - i dunno what they are called) and used a brush from sally beauty supply (where i purchased all of this) to paint starting from the ends to right below my ears. i watched my hair and let it sit for about 8 minutes - then repeated today and let sit for 10 min. i also made sure to paint a few whisps on the top of my hair - they are very subtle, but help blend in the bottom. so far loving it - hopefully i will be able to post pics! note: mine is not this orange/light - but it's still amazing via google images

ombre hair. a tale of a not quite oopps.

Ok so like the video below I tried the ombre hair technique. I mixed L'oreal powder bleach with 2 oz - with 20 volume developer. In other posts I've seen people have used L'oreal perfect blonde highlighting kit and other the mix I did but with 30 volume developer. The higher the number the developer - the most blonde you will get. Well I started with the left side of my hair and got so worked up that I flaked a little bit on the right. So, I'm going to need to fix it. Also, it's not as light as I wanted. Below is re-blogged from  http://schoee.blogspot.com  I really wanted to get the results she had. However - I think I need to reprocess. I need to brave it out and leave it in longer. 20 minutes the first time (I only did 10) and then 30 minutes if not blonde enough. I'm loving the look I did get - it's beachy and sexy! This look is super easy to achieve it just takes patience - and super cheap! I'm so proud!
