Tis the season!

Especially this time of year. The line for Santa was two city blocks long today. Those poor angry parents.  I ordered these little gems for NYE of off Etsy! Can't wait for a dear friends party!  Heading home to my favorite city, Milwaukee, on Tuesday. Grimm family Christmas Eve and Dixon family christmas day. I'm so lucky to have the most wonderful family and can't wait to see my best friends.  I added some ombré to my hair! Thank you Vicki at Salon Chic! And thank you Kelsey for trimming the roughe piece on the end...at work...in the bathroom.  Chinese buffet. Can you guess which plate is mine?  We had a festive Saturday night last week at my bosses house! Tis the season for cocktail weenies (wrapped in bacon).

Classic Black

There are many things I'm wrong about. One of the few that I will deem a "do not challenge me on" is how classic a black bootie can be. Certainly there are ways to make this shoe edgy, preppy, sexy or modern; however, it's very hard to wear the look wrong. Above are some of my favorite black booties. Wedges, heels, buckles, gold, and Western influence. I'm swooning over the Rag & Bone pair you never seen before (kidding).  Below are a few more of my favorites:

you need it: leopard vest

I don't think I can live without t his vest  from Banana Republic. And her collection of arm ornaments is fantastic. #wishlist (oh and it's only $130!)

Give Thanks!

Have the most wonderful thanksgiving. I'm home in Whitefish Bay looking forward to spending (half) the day with my family and the other half with the finance's. This year, and every year, I have so much to be thankful for. Health, happiness, my family, a wonderful fiancé, Henry Ann the pup, the greatest friends I could ever imagine, a fantastic and challenging job. The list goes on and on and on - because what I listed above could be considered luxuries. I've never had to go a night without a roof over my head or a lay down to bed worrying about where my next meal would come from.  Sending love and thanks to you and yours on this beautiful day! XO

upscale errands: the effortless way

I mean you could run errands in your Lululemon or you could wear a Chanel pin. The decision is totally yours. On most weekends you can find me in an outfit similar to the one above (minus Chanel). Nothing like a great pair of boots, classic dark skinny jeans, a denim shirt, and a bag big enough to throw everything in. Haute Holiday: CATE KATAN

As one of those girls that has everything she could possibly ever need - and more - I feel awful around Christmas time. I know that I'm a nightmare to shop for. On the bright side the gifts I ask for are rarely extravagant or ridiculous. Adam has done a great job the past few years, minus the whole gift card fiasco. Instead of focusing on big name brands, this year I thought it would be nice to throw a chic homegrown brand your way enter - CATE KATAN . Katy Chia, one of the sweetest girls I've ever met, makes the most beautiful baubles . They are delicate and made with such love and attention to detail that they would be any girls dream. I know what you're thinking, these necklaces must cost a fortune, and I know you're thinking over $100. They cost less than $100, less than $50, and for the most part less than $20. Which necklaces if your favorite? I'm currently obsessed with all things dainty, my friend Kelsey has currently ben rocking the double layered loo

The Perfect One.

Our family room is definitely the hub of our home. Adam, Henry Ann (the pup) and I can usually be found here. I occupy the blue and white printed chair and Adam stays put on our cognac leather couch with Henry curled up next to him. Right now we live in an old house, it has beautiful built-ins and the details are impossible to find in new construction; however, as we make a life for ourselves in Rochester we're looking at the bigger picture and putting our adult pants on - it's time to buy. Having an open concept kitchen and family room would be such a luxury. Right now our house is boxed into rooms - our front door opens to a huge entry way that moves right into our family room, but the kitchen, dining room, mudroom, bathroom, and the refrigerator (which has its own hall) don't flow. I just want to knock out walls! I've taken to Pinterest and Houzz (where I grabbed the photos below from) to see what really appeals to me. My don'ts: Dark, stuffy, lots of brown

Adam Loves Molly: Engagement Photos

Well, it was unexpected but the fiance had the BEST time having our engagement photos taken. It was a day I really worked myself up about. The hair, the makeup, the outfits, looking 'fat'; however, it ended up being a perfectly rainy day, with our perfectly adorable photographer. Kim, of Kim Thiel Photography , made us feel so at ease - admittedly we did need to have a cocktail or two to loosen up. I love how our photos turned out. In fact, I'm obsessed. I think they capture Adam and I perfectly and I'm happy with how we looked and LOVE how happy I feel when I look at these photos and think about that day...and all the days we have together! We're getting into crunch time - ahhh! Less thank 6 months. I had our Save the Dates designed tonight and even bought us a wedding domain name - adamlovesmolly.com (serious as a heart attack). I hope you enjoy our photos! Our hometown, Milwaukee, served as a beautiful backdrop! Thank you again Kim - I can't wait for y

Featured: Gwenyth Brand

I thought I would try and NOT turn this blog into all things wedding, but it turns out when something is consuming your life - it consumes your blog (sorry...not sorry). Right now I've got six months to go and it's crunch time in the gym, literally and figuratively. When I'm not doing yoga, pilates, barre or cardio, I'm tracking my calories like a psycho. I even punch in my daily glass of pinot grigio (don't judge - keeps the mind sharp).   A HUGE congrats to the team behind Gwenyth for reaching their Kickstarter campaign goal - watch the video above - truly remarkable! Being that this is fashion-y blog I'm not going to bore you with my eating habits and gym routine, but rather have a heart to heart with you about what you should be wearing in the gym. If you are anything like me a stop at the gym doesn't justify going home to shower just because you sweat ( a lot), there are still errands to run. You need your wine, Henry needs his dog food and

Update: Grimm & Dixon Wedding

Wedding planning has gotten a tad out of control! With six months to go, I'm so thankful for my wonderful wedding planners The Eventful Life. They are taking care of all the details I would never even dream of! I am so excited to marry my best friend; however, there is a lot that goes into the big day! I just started typing a list of everything and it stressed me out so it was promptly deleted. I'll give you a few updates though! We updated the color palette of our wedding and I could not be more excited. As you can see it's MINT! Our floral put it best, "You want an upscale, glamorous, Great Gatsby-esque garden party." NAILED IT! This week we even settled on bridesmaid dresses! One of my bridesmaids, Katie, took one for the team and ordered the dress from Zappos. It looks better on her then it does on the model! We choose the Donna Morgan "Laura" Dress in Spearmint . Nordstrom and Zappos carry the dress; as well as, Weddington Way (they

Designer Dossier: Libby Lane

It's always nice to be ahead of the curve, right? This morning I think I hit the jackpot thanks to, my fabulous co-worker, Claire. We get so caught up in brand names {Hello Reva flats, I still love you} that it's refreshing to find a new {to me} designer with an eye for all the right details. Enter: Libby Lane . This Texas designer has all the right elements for her bags to become the next "IT". Simple structure, beautiful handcrafted leather, just the right amount of detail, and the mentality of taking it back to the basics {high quality basics}. Libby Lane has major things coming - the brand was  featured in  Vogue  and some of the biggest names on the block are singing her praises, little ol' me feels the same way.   Libby herself is a stunner, the perfect mix of tumbleweed Texas and high fashion chic. To break it down: totally refreshing: uncomplicated, functional, beautiful handbags. My personal favorite is the envelope , but all of the b

Emmy Awards 2013

via popsugar A lot happened at the Emmys last night. A few that are of some meaning to me: Breaking Bad got robbed {Last night's episode - I can't even. I held my breath for 30% of it.}, Aaron Paul's wife is one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen {did you know they are only 25?}. They are so in love and as a sucker for love they are currently my favorite couple. I love the celebrity candids. I think a lot of the time we forget these are normal {just insanely good looking} people.  On to the fashion: I thought that Connie Britton's dress was awful. I adore her in Nashville and just thought "No. No. No. No. CURTAINS!!!!!"  I would say the  Huffington Post  has a fairly accurate portrayal of the worst dressed celebrities. Again, poor Connie. Per usual  Us Weekly  didn't totally nail it with the best dressed list! Who was your favorite? I thought Julia Louis-Dreyfus knocked it out of the park. I agree 100% w

fall fashion: style on the plaza

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, especially for fashion's sake. Riding boots, ballet flats, faux fur, and new trends. I'm currently obsessing over Royal blue. I also happened to pull a fantastic blue blazer for the annual Style on the Plaza fashion show that is tomorrow, on the Peach Plaza in downtown Rochester. I work directly with the fashion show director Nood and help her style the models and do the last look before they hit the runway. It's one of the best events in Rochester all year, and really showcases how fantastic our downtown merchants are. You might notice a handsome face on the runway and in the  look book ! Yesterday I had a day full of meetings. I don't think my brain turned off work mode until about 7:00 last night. However, the peek you get of my new royal blue blazer {above - shameless selfie} totally made up for an insanely busy day. I think life is more fun when one is dressed colorfully, no?

Weekend.

Just a few snaps of what has been going on fashion wise since Friday! I nabbed this Oxford a Kohl's (one of my best friends and bridesmaids works at Kohls corporate and I'm always majorly impressed with their buying) for less than $50. Way more affordable than the J.crew option! I picked up another frugal item at TJ Maxx and am rocking it today. Open weave, lace detail, and a flattering cream color - done! The big fashion show is coming up on Thursday, I love volunteering as a stylist, and love that my fiancé gets to be a model. This year our models are out of this world, and the downtown Rochester merchants have some really amazing pieces to work in. Adam is wearing glasses for one of his looks, we choose these Chrome Heart frames from Eye-Q. Handsome!
