what i'm wearing: gold and cognac

I could tell you that my love for gold and cognac was just a phase, y'all it's here to stay. I recently purchased the Tory Burch York Tote in Luggage , with gorgeous gold details. The price point was fantastic and it was just the bad I needed to put all of my work files in. I can carry my portfolio, several client folders, an iPad, my GiGi New York Clutch and my giant pouch of Nars lipstick  - I've been wearing Carthage a lot. It's a beautiful hot pink matte lipstick. The best part it doesn't budge! Below you will find some pieces I'm loving in gold and cognac. I love the rich buttery brown paired with the beauty of gold accents! style staple: white jeans

White Jeans are a style staple of mine year round. They look great in the summer with sandals and simple tank or in the fall with cognac boots and a chunky sweater. This winter I'm looking forward to wearing a white-on-white outfit. One of my best friend's LJ has rocked this look in cooler months and she looks amazing. I personally alternate between two pairs of trusty white jeans. I didn't want to invest a ton of money in jeans that had holes in them (for hopefully obvious reasons) so I picked up a pair on major sale at Old Navy. Their Rockstar Jeans fit me like a dream. For casual Fridays at work or when distressed jeans are appropriate I have a pair from Mother that are amazing. they are so flattering and surprisingly slimming! I picked them up when Adam and I were in Seattle and I ended up wearing them the whole weekend. One of my favorite places to shop for jeans is Shopbop. I love supporting a company that was born and bred in Wisconsin. How many of you knew that? Ano...

Spring Story: Coral Moment

I ask again, "Is it spring yet?" I think everyone in Minnesota has had it up to their neck in snow. That's a literal comment, there is so much snow, and we just got four more inches last night. This outfit from ASOS  is just perfection to me. The coral skirt, the shape, the jeweled sweater and the simple sandals. Ring me up, it's less than $60!

lust list:

most wanted: fancy face

This is one of those things where want is the imperative word. Do I need sunglasses? NO. Do I want these fiercely chic House of Harlow  sunnies - a resounding YES! I am usually a simple Ray-Ban aviator  gal, they go with everything and are timeless; however, when I need to dress it up a bit these babies would do the trick. Here are a few other cat eye frames to tickle your fancy face:

Tuesday's Top Picks

This Tuesday it's all about my summer staple: the maxi dress.  My Maxi Dress Rules: Always wear with FLAT sandals Keep it simple Don't show straps - invest in a good strapless bra Find the correct length {I prefer mine long - floor skimming} Check the dress for opacity {the material can often be flimsy and see through} BE BRONZED {hello spray tan!} If you're wearing a busy print - only wear stud earrings

{printed pants} karen kane.

When Karen Kane  sent me this beauty gauzy pants {I suggest ordering a size up} I immediately played with ways to style them. I'm 5'9" so for a night out I need to pair them with a lower wedge. For day simple nude or cognac sandals with a denim shirt do the trick. Honestly, they are like wearing your PJ's, but you look chic. Take a cue from Elizabeth  from Unabashedly Uncorked  - I mean she looks AMAZING!                           image via  unabashedlyuncorked Unfortunately the pants I have are sold out, but  Karen Kane  has some fantastic alternative options. They are so extremely affordable and I'm guessing just as comfy! Coming later this week my style suggestions for this BEAUTIFUL Karen Kane Draped Top . It's perfect for work and play!

Tuesday: Top Picks

Interview: Michelle Money

I will be the first to admit that reality television isn't a guilty pleasure of mine, it's a real pleasure that I'm 100% confident in owning. Since Michelle Money made her debut on the Bachelor I knew that this was one chick I had to keep following. So I did, via Twitter, Facebook, and her YouTube Channel {links are the the bottom of the page}. Miss Money is not only stunning, but she is totally down to earth {rare, I know}! She was kind enough to do an interview with me, and I can say with certainty that I adore her even more!  1. We watched you on the Bachelor and Bachelor Pad, and it seems like the 'Bachelor Family" is pretty close. Do you raid one another's closets? Who do you think has the most covetable wardrobe out of all the ladies who have been on the show? If I could share closets with one of the other contestants I would for sure choose Jillian Harris! I LOVE her style and her personality that goes with it! She is sassy, s...

Karen Kane: Inspiration

Drooling. That's what this  Karen Kane  Moto Jacket left me doing. I've taken some outfit photos {truth: soon to be revealed - this kind of thing takes a bit of teeth pulling on my end - it terrifies me to be judged}. When I received a box full of goodies from Karen Kane I couldn't have felt more special. I told my mom who proceeded to say, "Ohhhh! Your grandma loves  Karen Kane !!!  " I love my grandma, but our sense of style has a sixty year age gap. The point of this : Karen Kane caters to all ages, and in my opinion has really modernized their brand. Printed pants, high necked maxi dresses , and chic tops in modern cuts were all on my radar. I can't wait to share these pieces with you over the next couple of weeks {saying it here holds me accountable - no more being shy}! Outside of my blog post, this moto jacket has been getting a ton of wear, it's a perfect jacket to throw on when I'm heading out the door. It goes with everything and stripe...

{molly packs} for germany!

1.  Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Bag 2.  Gap Colorblock Tote 3.  Tory Burch Dome Studs 4.  Steven Pembrook Bootie 5.  Hunter Huntress High-Gloss Wellies 6.  Aryn K Ladylike Jacket Yes, I'm going to Germany this Saturday. My boyfriend and I planned a somewhat spur of the moment trip to go visit his amazing cousin and her amazing boyfriend! They live in Frankfurt and have offered to let us stay with them for the week! We will be traveling around Germany (and possibly to Amsterdam or Paris), so I wanted to make sure I packed classic staples that I would wear over and over. I needed a cute carryon that I would feel confident with, and this gap bag fit the bill.I splurged on a Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag, and know that I will feel amazing wearing it. The weather in Germany is also really rainy right now - coldish and damp - a perfect weather for Hunter Boots. I have bright green hunters, but I wanted a classic pair that I could wear from day to night. ...

STYLE Week Spotlight: Lillian's of Rochester

I'm all about texture this fall. And participating in STYLE Week (downtown Rochester, Minnesota for you geographically challenged) has got me a ticket to the best pieces in the city! I walked in and instantly knew the looped yarn vest had to be mine - at around $50 it's a great affordable and trendy piece to keep my warm this Fall. See that chiffon dress hiding back there. I would wear it as a skirt, a tunic over skinny jeans (belted with a leopard calf hair belt of course) and that fabooosh leather jacket. Lillian's in Downtown Rochester  is having a major 70's revival. And I'm SO on board! Nikki, the lovely owner, was super busy (the store was packed) when I stopped in, so I didn't get to chat with her about her favorite fall trend, but I'm guessing we are on the same page with all her in store merchandise! Join us Downtown on Thursday, September 15th to see Lillian's in the STYLE Week Fashion show at the Peace Plaza!!!  Like Lillian's of...

no body does it better.

Look how pretty she is, when she falls down. Now there’s no beauty in bleeding mascara. Lips are quivering like a withering rose, she’s back again.

Cuppie Cakie.

Every Friday I’m going to start focusing on what I consider to be a glammie blogger. A blogger that has style and substance. This week I chose Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere. She is beautiful, stylish, and well versed in fashion, interior design, entertaining, and the like. She seems like the kind of girl you would want to sit with in a garden and just drink Grey Goose and soda (with a splash of lime of course). She even designed a bag for Coach that evoked a throwback to Chanel. Chain strap, blush leather, and everything a girl could dream of. I find her charming and beautiful – and I really want her to be my friend (ha only sort of kidding). I check into Emily’s blog daily - http://cupcakesandcashmere.com/ - and she was just feature on WhoWhatWear.com in their style stalker feature. Her out fits are to die for and I find her as a style inspiration weekly. If only I had the luxury of purchasing the clothes of her back; however, Emily does a great job of mixing high and low en...

mama media.

Sometimes we all just need a bit of beauty. A bit of fantasy. A bit of fire lit beneath us to inspire. I came home from work today with a box of hair color detox in my right hand, and a rich creamy box of brunette in my left hand. Yes, I just dyed my hair last night. But spent two hours after work making it into the perfect brown. I noticed my blonde (gag) highlights were coming through a bit coppery (gag) and there seemed to be streaks of black (gag) --- so I took to my own doings and fixed this bad boy up. Swoon - it looks fabulous! MODELS via Fashion Gone Rogue
