T Magazine showing off Prada's new eye wear collection.
"While Prada’s spring runway was full of chic bananas and this season’s most-coveted footwear — the striped platform brogue — its neo-rococo sunglasses also caught the eye of fashion peepers. Bold and sculptural, the limited edition spectacles are being celebrated tonight at Prada’s 57th street store with a launch party and art exhibit ‘’From Drawings to Pictures.” Eight artists were commissioned to integrate the shades into into their work, and the results range from Mattia Buffoli’s quirky photo showing the sunglasses as the eyes in a “face” of a plate of appetizers to Frederica di Giovanni’s photo of a butterfly net with captured prey. Two new frames join the existing collection available in blue, black, white and tortoise, $290 to $390 a pair. Despite the rain, we have a feeling that come summer everyone will be seeing 20/20."
